Feedback on a commissioned Painting
This watercolour of the Fishing Boat “Blue Billie” in the Marina at Coffs Harbour was commissioned by Lana Jane for a special birthday present for her Father-in-Law (who owns the boat). Lana Jane submitted some close-up photos of the boat for my guidance but, after thinking about this, I decided to re-imagine the Boat at a moorage in the marina to enhance and localize the picture to its home berth with Muttonbird Island in the background.
Lana and her partner were blown away by the outcome as per the attached text:
“ GARY! Honestly, the painting is way more than what we had imagined!!!!!! Thank you so much, my partner and I are beyond stoked with the outcome!”

Paintings as a "ThankYou!" Gift
Dr Richard "Harry" Harris (SC. OAM. Australian of the Year 2019) is presented with one of Gary's Jetty watercolours as a thank-you gift for his support of the Coffs Harbour Daybreak Rotary Clubs Rymarine program at Coffs Harbour in October 2019.
Harry is a celebrated Cave Diver who was jointly awarded “Australian of the Year 2019” for his critical role in rescuing eleven young Thai Soccer Players and their coach from a deep cave in Northern Thailand in November 2018.
RYMARINE introduces Northern NSW students each year to career opportunities in marine science. Gary is currently president of the Coffs Harbour Daybreak Rotary club that runs the event.
